Removing Hair from Carpet

How to Remove Hair from Carpet

There are many methods of carpet cleaning, as well as ways to remove hair from your carpet. Here are several different ways for cleaning carpet plus hair removal:

  • Use baking soda - Baking soda provides two benefits at once - it's a great room deodorizer, and it's also a great way to remove pet hair from carpets. First step - Sprinkle some baking soda all over the affected rug. Second step - Sit back, relax, and let the baking soda sit for a few moments before vacuuming it up. Third step - Check what your vacuum cleaner contains. There should be lots of dog and cat hair in addition to baking soda inside your vacuum trap.

  • Use fabric softener - First step - Make a mixture of water with liquid fabric softener in an empty spray bottle. The ratio should be a 3:1 dilution. Second step - Spray the mixture on the affected area of your rug. Third step - Relax and wait while the mixture dries. Fourth step - The fabric softener will loosen the embedded hair that's in the carpet as it dries, and all that's left to do is to vacuum.

  • Use a sponge mop - First step - Vacuum the areas affected. Second step - Lightly infuse the sponge mop with water. Third step - Go over the heaviest areas of hair in your carpet with the sponge mop. Fourth step - You'll be amazed as the sponge mop acts as an agitator and draws out all those embedded pet hairs to the surface of the rug. Fifth step - Use your hands or a vacuum to mop up the rug, removing all the hair clumps that will be on the surface of your carpet.
